NORMOFLOR

Probiotic – original biological preparation for treating diarrhea and dysbacteriosis

(capsules)

Composition

Lyophilized bacterial cells from the specially selected strain Lactobacillus bulgaricus “I. Bogdanov patent strain tumoronecroticance B-51” ATCC #21815, shortly called “LB51®” in short. One gram of the preparation contains minimum 109 living bacterial cells.

Pharmacological properties

NORMOFLOR® is a preparation normalizing the intestinal flora. Orally applied NORMOFLOR® propagates in the intestinal tract and regains its productivity, acting antagonistically to pathogenic and conditional pathogenic enteric bacteria. The beneficial effects of the preparation is due to the suppression of the intestinal infections and stopping of the diarrhea syndrome, as well as to the quick regeneration of the intestinal mucuses, caused by the biologically active substances, synthesized by LB51®.

Indications

THERAPEUTIC – indigestion and diarrhea of bacterial origin (Salmonella, Shigella, Klebsiella, pathogenic Escherichia coli, Proteus, Pseudomonas); – dysbacteriosis resulting from wide spectrum antibiotic and/or sulfonamide treatment; – colitis – including ulcerative, haemorrhagic and radiation colitis and proctitis.

PROPHYLACTIC – during and after antibiotic and/or sulfonamide treatment for maintaining the normal intestinal flora and for prevention of dysbacteriosis.

Dosage

In cases of acute diarrhea syndrome the treatment begins with 4 capsules of 250 mg and after that – 2 capsules on every 2 hours. During the following 3-4 days the treatment continues with 2 capsules 3-4 times a day, half an hour before meals. In cases with not so severely manifested symptoms – 2 capsules 3-4 times a day, half an hour before meals. In cases of intestinal disorders on neonates, breast fed children and infants, the contents of 1-2 capsules is dissolved in a small quantity of water or milk. This single dose is to be given 3-4 times a day depending on the severity of the symptoms. For stabilizing the achieved therapeutic effects the treatment should be continued for at least 5 days in doses 2-4 capsules a day. The treatment in cases with chronic colitis should go on for a longer period of time.
